Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress, producer and director. Her work has been recognized for movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. The film Piano has won several awards for her including an Oscar. The path to acting began in Broadway through a myriad of Broadway and Off Broadway assignments. Since her primary school years, she was Helen Keller in a play during the 5th grade. The actress was deaf in one ear after suffering from mellitus, but didn't have this limitation deter her determination to become an actress. At college, she was a theatre student before moving into New York City in pursuit of her goal. She met Beth Henley in an elevator and the pair collaborated in Broadway Crimes of the Heart her first feature film. She was then moved into Los Angeles and tried to secure films roles. For Swing Shift, she landed her first role as a character support. She has since appeared in a variety of television series and movies over the course of over three decades. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
